Alopecia Medicamentosa
Thinning hair due to chemotherapy is also called Alopecia Medicamentosa. The cytostatic drugs administered during chemotherapy result in the thinning of head hair (mostly reversible). The progression in this case largely depends on the substances used, the dosage, and the treatment duration. Cytostatic drugs are a group of drugs used to inhibit cell growth, but with a side effect that affects the activity of hair follicles. Normally, the hair grows back approximately 3 months after completion of the chemotherapy, but there have increasingly been cases of persistent hair growth disorder.
Unfortunately, the topic of thinning hair is still often neglected in the context of chemotherapy treatment. The common argument is that thinning hair has no life-threatening effects. The psychological effect is completely underestimated. This can adversely affect the immune system in addition to the medication.

THYMUSKIN® FORTE - BEFORE - chemotherapy
If possible, it is recommended to start THYMUSKIN® treatment 4 weeks before chemotherapy with daily usage as follows: THYMUSKIN® FORTE Shampoo should be used 2-3 times weekly and THYMUSKIN® FORTE Serum should be applied once daily. In case of low level doses of chemotherapy, Thymuskin Classic Shampoo and Serum are also suitable for application.

THYMUSKIN® FORTE - DURING - chemotherapy
THYMUSKIN® FORTE Shampoo should be used at least 2-3 times weekly and THYMUSKIN® FORTE Serum should be applied twice daily, once in the morning and once in the evening.

THYMUSKIN® FORTE - AFTER - chemotherapy
After the conclusion of chemotherapy, THYMUSKIN® FORTE Shampoo should be used at least 2-3 times weekly for 3-6 months or at least until the hair regains a uniform appearance and a normal, natural structure. THYMUSKIN® FORTE Serum should be applied twice daily for 8 weeks, once in the morning and once in the evening. After the eight weeks, it should be applied once daily.
Application
STEP #1. Wash your hair with THYMUSKIN® Shampoo
STEP #2. Apply THYMUSKIN® Serum to the scalp
Ideally start using preventively four weeks before starting chemotherapy. You can also start using it at any time during or after therapy (see above for more information).
Use until hair has regrown evenly and in its natural structure.
Bald areas should also be cleaned and prepared with THYMUSKIN® Shampoo before using THYMUSKIN® Serum.
THYMUSKIN® is suitable for long-term use.
Adjust shampoo to your usual washing rhythm, but wash at least 2-3 times weekly.
Apply serum to scalp daily. Hair should be towel dried or dry beforehand.
Please Note: Stronger cases of chemotherapy will inevitably cause hair loss. In these cases, Thymuskin® treatment may not be as effective. Results may vary between individual cases. When starting to use Thymuskin®, the activation of hair follicles may result in slightly increased hair loss due to activation on new hair follicles pushing out older hair follicales.
